Continuing Health Care

Continuing Health Care seems to be a popular topic when I talk with my friends.  We joke about it and our futures not really knowing what it holds for us.  Some of us are even planning to book our places now when we see the lovely homes around the country.  In fact, we were only playing golf at Cherwell Edge Ladies Open last week and saw Chacombe Park – it looks beautiful, don’t you think?

But joking apart, I know I for one, am doing my best to stay healthy, not just for now, but for future years.  It’s one of the reasons I take my daily ‘slug’ of aloe and my vitamins.  I don’t feel so creaky when I get up in the morning and neither do I seem to suffer from the annual colds – yes plural; I didn’t just get the one in a year.  Neither do I seem to have that 3pm lull where I want a Siesta.

Will this mean I won’t need any long time care? – I have no idea.

I think this quote by Hunter S Thompson says it all for me – ‘Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming — WOW– What a Ride!’  And if I’m going to that I need some assistance.
